Happy 2010

December 31, 2009

This is one of my favorite parts of the year–the busy rush is over, and I can look back and reflect on what a fabulous year I had. 2009 was full of some amazing sessions, and I am happy to share my favorite shot from most of them (I leave out the sessions of clients who did not sign a model release to allow me to use their images online). It is incredibly hard to chose a single image from each session, but I did it. Enjoy:

Thanks to all of my fabulous clients for the best year of my photography business so far!

Sledding

December 27, 2009

This is not photography related, but it’s fun! One of my Christmas gifts from my husband was a Flip Video camera, and it’s soooo much fun. It’s about the size of a pocket-sized digital camera, and it has a little USB plug on it so you can pop them right onto the computer. Here’s a compilation of videos I took yesterday when we were sledding:

Holiday Candy

December 22, 2009

Due to my intolerance to gluten, most of our holiday baking ends up being holiday candy. Sunday night, we made an old favorite and a new one:

On the right are our old favorite, peanut clusters. My family’s recipe is my favorite of all I’ve tried, and it’s soooo easy. You simply melt a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 6 squares of white almond bark, and a handful of butterscotch chips in a bowl in the microwave. Stir in a jar of peanuts, and drop onto waxed paper. EASY! Evan dropped them on the waxed paper all by himself, which explains the odd shape of some of them.

A new candy we tried was peppermint bark. I found this recipe on the blog of former Morrison-ite, Molly: http://bloggingmollyr.blogspot.com/ I must admit we changed it a bit. First of all, we couldn’t find regular candy canes so we used pink ones. I would recommend sticking with regular. :) Also, to make up for the pink candy canes we decided to crush up some mint M&M’s on top. But, it’s pretty good the way we made it, so I know it would be fabulous made the right way!
