I love this little guy…remember him from when he was 3 months old and when he was one, and fall of last year? Now, he’s a big two year old, and looking like such a big boy! He was pretty fast, too. This is the best part of this job–getting to see the same kids year after year! The younger ones don’t remember me from year to year, but the older ones do (remember my client who flagged me down at the fair to take her pic…I’m still giggling about that).

One of my favorites, taken right off the bat. It was his idea to sit in this truck tire. Cutie!

Chillin’ on some pallets

Very fast-moving target, here!

A handsome boy hanging out on the grass

Being that we were on my aunt’s farm, I allowed Evan to come. He actually helped us out a bit, as Mr. C. really enjoyed chasing him around. Later, he showed C. how to pose. This shot would be so cute if they were brothers!

Thanks to Evan, we were able to capture this:

He’s FAST! Chasing Mommy, in this one:

This is my other favorite. Yes, it’s a little boy sitting on a rock pile in a weedy vacant cow-lot, but it’s so much MORE.

Close-up cutie:

Investigative:

C. & Evan had a blast w/ this grasshopper. Evan was really sad when I made him let it go.

Evan sacrifices his head to make C. laugh:

Well my favorite one, at least. And my favorite boy. I allowed Evan to come along on a photo shoot over the weekend, and we took a few shots before the clients arrived:

His hair was actually looking cute in these, but I’m not crazy about that outfit. One of these times I will get it right! I’m still looking for the GIANT shot of him to hang over my mantle. I want to get a scenic shot where he’s a small part if it…hopefully this fall!

I think one-year-olds may be my favorite to photograph. I think at other times, when writing blog posts, I’ve stated other ages as my favorite, but for today, it’s one-year-olds. Our morning with this little guy is why–he was unbelieavably good-tempered and laid-back, a real “go with the flow” kinda kid. In addition, he just could not have been any more handsome. Love that little bald, blonde head! We did things backwards from my normal progression this time–we started down by the lake and then ventured up the hill to the grassy area. I have a ton of favorites.

I try this shot often with kids, especially when they are still getting used to me and not quite ready to leave Mom and Dad. I LOVE how it turned out this time.

He was a man on the move. A couple minutes later:

Lots of backwards running for me here:

A good toss from Daddy almost always solicits a laugh. I love how he’s looking at his mom here:

My instructions for this shot were, “toss and smoosh”. Luckily the parents were really good about moving quickly and then looking relaxed.

Another favorite, hanging out along the lake:

He has the BEST little partial smile. Love it!

Although is full smile is even better. Every time he smiled, he’d kick his legs and wiggle. Luckily Mom was on hand (camera left) to catch!

I sometimes bring balloons for first-birthday sessions. Mr. C. approved.

Serious boy, single balloon, gorgeous backlighting, yay! (nice job holding the reflector, Alex)

I think this is tied for my favorite from the whole session:

Another soulful look here

Proof that he was happy boy throughout. He’s probably laughing at me with my head in the grass here!
