I usually show up to the locations of my shoots before my clients do. Lately, while I wait, I’ve been looking for good textures. Using textures on photos is not really my style, but creating them does give me something to do while I wait. Here are three textures I found at my last two photo shoots. I did play around with them a bit in Photoshop to make them more interesting.

If you don’t know how to use textures, what you do is place them over your image in Photoshop, set the layer mode to “overlay” or “soft light” or even “multiply”, and then erase back the skin (texture on skin is icky). If you want to try these out, you can download all three here (they are PNG files in a zipped folder, 28MB total): Jan’s Textures

I especially like the asphalt! Thanks for the share.
Those are really neat, and my god, but the kids are cute.
