Help me decide!

August 31, 2008

We are a family of records. Evan holds the record as the hardest kid I’ve ever tried to photograph, and my husband holds the record of most-reluctant-to-be-photographed adult. Personally, I have earned the title of hardest to please client. You’d think being my own client would help, but I think it just adds to my neurosis. Currently, I am trying to choose three photos of Evan for the area above our mantle. I took my wall displays a step further and took a picture of my actual mantle to use as a guide (it’s not actually green but I used a high-ISO and the color is off). I even did the math to make sure everything is pretty close to the same ratio (I’d say exactly, but it was me doing the math, after all). These will be either all gallery-wrapped canvas or all museum mounts, so they won’t be framed and will look pretty close to these samples. Please vote and let me know which version you prefer!

Option 1:

Option 2: (changed the side pics)

Option 3: (middle pic changed to 20×20 instead of 20×30)

Option 4: (I changed the image on the left. I really like this image, but Evan has his coat off here–does that matter?)

Man, I love this kid!

Finally, FINALLY!!! I got some pictures that I adore of Evan. It has been years. Well he’s only four, but it has been what seems like years since I captured a good shot of him. Definitely the first time this summer that I’ve captured more than one shot in a sequence that I truly love. He came along with me on a photo shoot that we did for a family friend, and after he actually allowed me to take HIS photo. Now WHY DIDN’T I DRESS HIM IN SOMETHING CUTE TODAY? Oh well…he was dressed. That is more than we can say some days. I’m sharing a ton because I love so many! We were at my aunt and uncle’s farm and I have to say I LOOOOVE this location for pictures. It’s not what you’d typically think of as good areas for photos, but I adore places like this. Plus, it’s always changing and that keeps things interesting! Wait until you see the pictures of the 1-year-old we took today!

This is the look he gets when he’s very serious about telling you something. I LOVE IT!

On the way home, we stopped at the farmer’s market. Morrison’s farmer’s market is really nice! It’s on Saturday mornings until 11. We parked by the Courthouse, and Evan wanted to take pictures again there.

I actually forgot to blog about this one…my previous family was referred to me by this one, which sparked my memory! I can’t believe I forgot, as they were fun. How often does one get a family shot like this?
